Using Mai,
the Mythos AI Assistant

What Mai is‍

Mai is an AI assistant inside Mythos. You ask in plain words. Mai can search your Mythos content, draft text, and make changes you have permission to make. It is powered by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. Mythos does not train AI models.

Mai can make mistakes

Mai is AI. It can be wrong, miss things, or misread a request. Please double-check its responses, and review anything it writes or changes before you rely on it, especially anything donors or the public will see.

Mai uses your own account's permissions when it reads or changes Mythos content.

Your data

• What you type, files you attach, and the Mythos content Mai reads to answer you are sent to Anthropic to produce a reply.
• Your Mythos administrator can block certain story profile fields and survey questions from reaching the AI.
• Some Mai tools also remove link data, and replace survey respondent names and emails. Other tools, such as survey-user search, send names and emails as they are.
• Please avoid pasting personal details you do not need to.

What we keep

• Your conversations, and a log of the actions Mai took, are stored in your institution's Mythos database. We do not delete them automatically. If you delete a conversation, it is hidden from you but not erased. To have AI data removed, contact us (see below).
• Files you attach to a chat are removed after about one day.
• If you share a conversation, any signed-in user at your institution can open it. Administrators can open any conversation

Limits

Mai handles a limited number of requests per minute. Your institution may also have a monthly usage limit.

Report a problem or concern

If Mai gives a harmful, biased or wrong answer, or you think personal data was exposed, tell us:

• Contact your Mythos Customer Success representative or support
• Mythos Security Center
  

Please include what you asked, what Mai answered, and roughly when. We will confirm we received your report.
